FelgersAbout Us

History
House of Hope Northeast Indiana was founded by Tom and Patrice Felger in December of 2006. After getting involved in the lives of hurting teenagers through a mentoring program that they started in Bluffton, the Felgers recognized that it would take much more than a few hours a week to see real healing take place in the lives of hurting teens. They witnessed firsthand how the social service "system", is a revolving door for some of these teenagers. They saw teens go through the “system” and return only to repeat their negative behaviors time and again. Powerful changes take place when teenagers get a hold of the life-changing truths of God's Word and choose to walk in the freedom that is found in Jesus Christ. The Felgers began praying and as they stepped out in faith God began to bring people along side of them to answer His call. The Board of Directors met for the first time in March of 2007. In May of 2007 God provided a home in Bluffton as the place to begin. The home is debt free and has been completely renovated to accommodate the residential and school components.

House of Hope Northeast Indiana is a Christian, interdenominational, not for profit, resident home and school for hurting and troubled teens, ages 12-17. We are committed to providing an affordable, family-style environment for teens in conjunction with training and Christ-centered counseling for the entire family.

Vision for the Future
We are currently in the process of remodeling the farmhouse so that we can relocate the residential home for the boys to the farm. The teen boys are currently helping with the remodel project and are looking forward to participating in many farm related activities once they are living on the farm. They will help maintain the grounds, do chores and learn skills that will help them in life.

Our vision is also to connect business with the ministry, both on and off campus. In this way HOHNEI will be funded largely through related business income. At HOHNEI we place high emphasis on career guidance. As part of our program students will participate in many aspects of related business which will teach them valuable skills in fields such as Farming, Service, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, and Web Design. We see these hands-on experiences resulting in good career decisions, self worth, and valuable business experiences that our future adults will use for years to come.

Prayer Team
Intercession is the heart of everything we do at House of Hope. Jesus Christ is the head of our ministry. Discerning His heart and acting in obedience, through faith, is our foundation. We have an active prayer team that meets regularly and receives requests via Email. Visit our Contact Us page to Email your request or to schedule a time of prayer for your physical, spiritual, emotional or relational need.
